Screening for Mental Health, Inc.'s own tax returns show the actual amounts donated by drug companies
We have been able to acquire copies of the tax returns for SMH from 2001 to 2004 and are currently working on getting a copy of their 2005 return. These documents show irrefutable proof that major drug companies are funding mental health screening. They have provided the program with $3,223,425.00 up to 2004. And, why not? It's a terrific marketing practice that will net the drug companies hundreds of thousands of new customers that will have to deal with their "syndromes", "neuroses" and "disorders" — all through the use of expensive drugs — filling the coffers of the drug companies. The costs of these drugs will be paid in a large part by MediCare, Medicaid and other similar government programs, which means this money will come out of YOUR pocket through your taxes.
